Outreach Best Practices
Position Finch as the Default Process for Data Access
Update your current annual plan sponsor outreach to promote Finch as the preferred process to share data. For all your plan sponsors, you will want them to quickly identify if they use a payroll provider supported by Finch and know the next steps to onboard with Finch.
Include in the outreach the following information:

- Simplified Data Collection: We'll handle the census collection process, eliminating the need for manual data extraction and formatting.
- Faster Turnaround: Experience significantly reduced audit turnaround times.
- Enhanced Accuracy: By directly accessing your payroll data, we can minimize errors and ensure accuracy.
Next steps to connect data with Finch
- Let them know that Finch will be the default method for collecting data if they use a supported payroll provider and include that list of providers. Please work with your Finch Implementation Engineer to confirm the list based on your required fields.
- Include the Finch Connect link the plan sponsor can use to authenticate. Make sure they know that an HR Admin (with payroll provider admin credentials) must go through Finch Connect. Work with your Finch Implementation Engineer to configure Finch Connect to only show the payroll providers that you will support.
- Include additional resources (such as the link to our Finch For Employers Page) or other materials your team has developed to educate your plan sponsors about the advantage of Finch Connections.
- Specify what the next steps are if they do not use a supported Payroll Provider, decide to opt out, or have additional questions. For those that opt out, have a follow up email template that guides them to use your legacy data collection method.
