Bob - Add a Service User

To connect your HiBob account to this application you must set up a new Service User. Once you create a Service User in HiBob, you will provide the Service User ID and API token in Finch Connect.

Service Users & Permissions Groups

A Service User is created solely for integration or API use and is distinct from human HiBob users.

Permissions in HiBob are then managed and assigned to users via “Permission Groups”. Service Users and Permission groups are both found in the Settings menu of the HiBob application.

Instructions

Step 1: Create a Service User

1. Log into app.hibob.com/home
2. Click on the icon in the top left corner of the page and select System Settings 
   
3. Select Integrations in the lefthand side menu and click Manage in the Service Users tile to create a new service user
   
   
   
   
4. Click + New Service User and enter the Service User Name and Display Name provided in the Finch Connect screen
5. Save the ID and Token - you will provide these values in the Finch Connect screen as the last step of this process
   
   
   

Step 2: Create a “Permission Group”

1. Navigate back to the System Settings page and select Account > Permission groups
2. Click + Add permission group and enter the Group Name provided in the Finch Connect screen
3. Choose the option to Select people by condition and click + Select people
   
4. Ensure the Lifecycle status equals all statuses you wish to include in the permission group and click Apply > Create user
   
5. In the People's data tab, enable the following permissions: 
   • Address > View Address sections
   • Employment > View Employment sections
   • Home > View
   • Identification > View
   • Lifecycle > View Lifecycle sections
   • Payroll > View Payroll sections
   • Personal > View
   • Personal Contact Details > View
6. Click Save

Step 3: Link your HiBob account

1. Navigate back to the Finch Connect screen
2. Copy and paste the Service User ID and API token you created in Step 1
