Getting Started with Finch on the Starter Plan

Last updated: December 16, 2025

Welcome to Finch! As a Starter plan customer, you have access to excellent self-service resources to help you build a successful integration. This guide will point you to the key resources you'll need throughout your implementation journey.

Finch Developer Dashboard

The Finch Developer Dashboard is where you access your API credentials, manage connections, and configure Finch Connect (including logo branding and managing your integration list). You created a password during signup and will always log in with your email and password. There's no limit to the number of team members you can add.

You can customize how your company appears to customers in Finch Connect, including adding your logo and customizing the display name.

Customer Portal

The Customer Portal is your hub for implementation resources, support, and project management. This is a separate system from the Developer Dashboard. You'll log in using your business email—the system will send you a code each time (no password needed). The system recognizes email domains that match your account's main domain.

The portal is organized around three main tabs:

Issues - View and manage support tickets created from the portal or via email. Track the status of your support requests in one place.

Tasks - Access Projects and checklists to guide your implementation. We strongly recommend using the Project feature as a technical checklist for your implementation—it aligns directly with our Implementation Guide and helps ensure you don't miss any critical steps. The Project checklist includes key milestones such as overview of Sandbox environments, managing integrations from the Developer Dashboard, building a secure backend application, and strategies for increasing employer adoption. If you don't see any projects in your portal, email implementation-team@tryfinch.com to request that it be added.

Members - Manage your team's access to the portal. Anyone who signs in with a matching email domain will be added automatically. Users with an admin role can add additional members with any email domain from this tab.

The portal also includes quick links to the Developer Dashboard, Help Center, Changelog, API Status, and Documentation.
